Our Business The first Akhavan store was established in Montreal, Canada in 1989.

The four Ajabi brothers had the idea to start their own business in the food trade, and so the store was named Akhavan since “Akhavan” means “the brothers” in Persian.

Apart from the two branches, there is also a wholesale business based in Ville Saint-Laurent.

The wholesaling business imports directly from Persia and other exotic locales around the globe, and distributes mainly to grocery stores in Canada.

Akhavan Food is an experienced importer and supplier of Mediterranean foods, and we provide a variety of healthy foods such as fresh dates, dried fruits, nuts, olive oil and much more. Persian Grocery Store

The Akhavan Brothers offer more than 10000 squares feet filled with Iranian, Mediterranean and Middle-Easter products which makes it the biggest Mediterranean & Middle-Eastern supermarket in Downtown & South of Montreal Island.

To meet our customers’ needs, we are open 7 days a week from 8 AM, and free parking is provided for all.

We have opened two branches to serve you better; Montréal (NDG) & Pierrefonds (West-Island).

We are the pistachios and nuts specialist you will find them only the best products in our stores.

At Supermarche Akhavan, you find a variety of bread such as Pita bread, Afghan bread, Markouk, Flatbread, Tortillas, Chapati, Nan bread and more.

Our famous Iranian Barbari bread is produced daily at our warehouse location, and it is our speciality.

We also have a variety of Middle-Eastern pastries. You will love our selection of Baklavas stuffed with Pistachios, and our Armenian style cookies.
