Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry

In todays’ world our focus on treating our patients has been limited to only what ‘we’ as ‘healthcare professionals’ like to focus on. If we listen carefully we discover that how our patients are tired of being treated for their symptoms rather than being treated for the cause.

As a dentist I often have to go through long list of medications that are prescribed for treating symptoms and see frustration in my patients’ eyes. I have heard often that patients say “I don’t know why I am taking this medication. It is not helping me’ or ‘I am taking this medication because the other one causes this problem. So my doctor prescribed this one to take care of the problem caused by the other one.’ Best Dentists Speaking Farsi Near Me

Isn’t it time for healthcare professionals to focus on finding ’cause’ rather than treating ‘symptom’?
A healthy body starts with healthy mouth not healthy teeth only. Their dental concerns are not my only focus when I meet a new patient. By reviewing their medical and dental conditions I come up with a comprehensive treatment plan and make necessary recommendations and referrals to improve their general health. I get rewarded by seeing the look in their eye changing from frustration to hope. That is my drive.
