Experienced Periodontist With more than 15 years as a practising periodontist, Dr Delaram Hanookai is exceptionally proficient in placing dental implants and grafting bone and gum tissue to replace teeth and restore smiles to people who may not have smiled comfortably in years. She understands this is not just a clinical procedure; it can change a person’s life – for the better.
Dr Hanookai received her certification in periodontal dentistry and implantology from USC in 1998. She also received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from USC in 1994 and her Master of Science Degree in Craniofacial Biology in 1998. Her education didn’t stop there, however.
She has continued to pursue advanced training at the Misch Implant Institute, one of the world’s most advanced training centres in dental implantology.
She has also been accepted as a Fellow of the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists), one of the world’s most respected dental associations.
Team Approach Dr Hanookai is a former clinical instructor of periodontics at USC, as well as an award-winning periodontist. She won the California Society of Periodontology Award for her outstanding surgical skills.
Dr Hanookai is known for her excellent use of sedation dentistry with which she helps patients relax through their appointments. They simply go to sleep and wake up, and the procedure or treatment is completed. With her advanced laser dentistry skills, Dr Hanookai can change the shape and look of gums in just a few minutes with very little discomfort. Laser dentistry often eliminates the need for sutures and does not require anaesthesia.
