Pardis For Children

Pardis For Children | American/Iranian School in New York City, New York

We’ve chosen the name Pardis, which means “paradise” in Persian, in the hopes of creating a Pardis for our children:
a space that is filled with love, learning and friendship. Our main goal is that our children learn about the Persian culture and language, associate it with positive notions, develop friendships with their Iranian peers, and build a strong community of next-generation Iranian Americans.
In bringing the children together, we also hope to create a space for parents to meet, interact, and build a social network and support system for one another. In addition to regular classes, we offer various workshops for children (and adults) every semester.
For more information on Pardi’s classes and workshops, go to Classes and Schedule. Pardis also collaborates with museums and other cultural institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Asia Society to schedule regular social and cultural events, tours, screenings and workshops for children and their families.
These events are open to the public. For information on events, check out the Events page. We are also developing original content including Music CD, Audiobooks, Flashcards and Storybooks.
Please go to Product Page for more information. To see photos, videos and media coverage go to Take a Peek! Pardis for Children belongs to the community and we welcome and encourage everyone to come and visit us, get involved with the organization, and help us create a better Pardis for our children! If you haven’t been to our Pardis, we hope you visit us soon!

Meet our team
Board Members Pardis for Children strives to instil a love of Persian culture and language in the new generation by cultivating their knowledge of Iran’s rich history and heritage.
Our hope is to create a strong community of next-generation Iranian-Americans by providing education on Persian culture and language in an enriching and welcoming environment. All our board members are also parents of Pardis for Children
Classes and Schedules Music and Play in Farsi Pardis for Children is a fun and loving environment where children come together to learn about the Persian language and culture, hear the music and melodies of Iran, be surrounded by Persian books, and interact with other Iranian American children. Classes are designed for children who are being raised in the United States by Iranian and/or foreign parents.
We have adopted a hybrid of progressive teaching philosophies and methods in early childhood education to introduce the Persian culture and language in a fun, creative and stimulating way. The children learn Persian vocabulary and different aspects of the culture through discovery, music, play and storytelling.
The themes for classes are inspired by Persian folklore and expressions. Activities and material used in classes are chosen carefully for each age group and will include books, puppets, percussion instruments, coloured fabrics, and other musical instruments. Our classes are student-centred, and the freedom within our fun and friendly structure encourage the children’s creativity and self-expression.
