Payam Shahian attended University of California institutions for his undergraduate and law degrees. He spent his early years as an attorney working at a national defence firm, where he primarily defended Ford Motor Company in approximately 150 consumer warranty cases, including claims brought under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, otherwise known as California’s “Lemon Law.”

Frustrated by the imbalance of power between large corporations and individuals, Mr Shahian made the decision to join the Plaintiff’s bar in 2007 and subsequently established Strategic Legal Practices, APC, in 2010. Persian Litigation lawyer in Los Angeles

Since that time, Mr Shahian has represented plaintiffs in a broad range of cases. His victories on behalf of plaintiffs have been hard-fought, and have even drawn the attention of his former corporate client Ford, which moved to disqualify Mr Shahian from representing consumers bringing breach-of-warranty allegations against Ford.

See Khani v. Ford Motor Company, 215 Cal. App. 4th 916 (April 2, 2013). On appeal, in a precedent-setting decision, the California Court of Appeal held that Ford cannot prevent Mr Shahian from representing a consumer suing Ford, even though he previously represented Ford against the same type of claim and/or in the same area of law.
