Hossein Shenasi starting from the age of 12 in his hometown of Tabriz in Iran, he began weaving carpets for his uncle and then went on to learn the family business.

In Tehran bazaar he worked in famous Momtaz carpet store which mainly dealt in a sale, cleaning, and repair of hand-knotted carpets for more than twenty years he learned all aspects of carpet restoration whether weaving damaged areas, colour run removal, stretching out of shaped carpets, binding, or fringing.

He then decided to immigrate to Canada in late 1970s to pursue what he has learned over the years.
